Nektar Rival Alerts

Privacy Policy

Effective May 15, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Nektar Insights LLC (“Nektar,” “we”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use Nektar Rival Alerts (the “Service”). We try to collect as little as possible to run the product.

1. Information we collect

From you, directly:

  • Email address — required to deliver alerts and sign you in.
  • Your selections — the rivalry, team, and tone you choose.
  • Billing information— if paid plans launch in the future, payment details will be collected and stored by our payment processor (e.g., Stripe). We would not see or store full card numbers.

Automatically, when you use the Service:

  • IP address— used to rate-limit sign-in attempts and prevent abuse.
  • Session cookie (rival-session) — a signed cookie that keeps you logged in for up to 30 days. No third-party tracking cookies.
  • Alert history— the alerts we’ve sent you, for your history view and to prevent duplicates.

2. How we use it

  • Send you alerts and account-related emails (sign-in links, billing receipts).
  • Operate, secure, and improve the Service.
  • Prevent fraud, abuse, and spam.
  • Comply with our legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it for behavioral advertising.

3. Who we share it with

We rely on a small set of service providers to run the product:

  • Hosting & infrastructure: Vercel (web), Neon (database).
  • Email delivery: Resend.
  • Payments: Stripe (when paid plans launch).
  • Sports data:ESPN’s public APIs — we send team identifiers to fetch scores; we do not send them any personal information about you.

These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and security commitments. We may also disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights and safety.

4. Data retention

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your email, display name, subscriptions, and alert history within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., financial records for paid plans).

5. Your choices and rights

  • Access or correction:email us and we’ll provide a copy of your data or correct it.
  • Deletion: email us to delete your account. You can also unsubscribe from alerts at any time from any alert email.
  • California, EU/UK residents: you may have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, and similar laws, including the right to know, the right to delete, and the right to object. Contact us to exercise them.

6. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards (TLS in transit, encrypted database storage, hashed magic-link tokens, HMAC-signed session cookies). No system is perfectly secure; please use a unique, strong email password.

7. Children

The Service is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. International users

The Service is operated from the United States. If you use it from another country, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the U.S.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or via the Service.
